Etelos Ecosystem Podcast On the Way

Etelos is starting a new addition to Etelos Magazine... the Etelos Ecosystem Podcast.
This is an exciting new media for Etelos to use to work with our growing user base. I have personally been subscribing to podcasts since ITunes added the ability to subscribe to podcasts into their player. I find it a great way to keep up to date with what's going on in the world and in the special areas of interest that I have in my life.
Etelos Podcast On Demand
Podcasting is an effective way for Etelos to work with both developers and business users in education of what is possible with their web application projects. Developers can listen to the podcast while working on a project, and pick up tips while multi-tasking. Business users can listen to helpful tips and best practices while commuting to the office.
How is Etelos Producing the Podcast?
Etelos is not producing the podcast internally, not because it's difficult... but just because WE HAVE TOO MUCH ALREADY TO DO. We have a new partner with podcasting experience and who will also be launching a podcasting application on the Etelos Store.
Etelos on Itunes
We will be subscribing the feed to ITunes. It takes a few days for it
to show up so hang in there. We will also be adding links to the
Etelos website tosubscribe. More on that later.
How Podcasting Works?
Podcasting is an extension of really simple syndication (RSS) and XML feeds. The Etelos language EASE and it's "LIST ENGINE" is a perfect vehicle to create XML feeds. Literally, it took less than 5 min to create the XML feed and update the Etelos corporate site to support podcasting. I'll do another post on how easy it was.
That reminds me, "what do you want..."
This whole decision to do a podcast, and add it into our site was another exercise in how powerful the Etelos solution is. The power to decide to take advantage of technology, and deploy a solution that can readily take advatage of that technology within 5 minutes. Now what do you want your web application to do?

There
are several media players that you can use, and everyone has their own
preference. Many are great players, but we recommend Apple's iTunes. Apple iTunes has a built in Podcast Reader and it is available for PC or MAC.
(NOTE: You do not have to have a mobile media (or .MP3) player to subscribe or listen to the podcast).

An
even bigger decision with even more choices to choose from. We will
make it simple for you… We recommend, and use, two different MP3
players: iPod, and iRiver. Both will work for PC or MAC. Your next
decision is memory size, based on your budget and potential music
usage. We recommend at least a 1GB memory space. If you are looking to
purchase an MP3 device, please consider buying through myPodMentor.com
and a small portion of the sale goes to help support our podcast, and
we thank you for your support.
